Life after the flood

Cara walked in. Her dark brown coat was now dirty and muddy and her once sparkling green eyes were filled with fear. She sat down watching everyone fighting and talking. Cara was new to the pack.

Cara didn't know who to turn to for comfort. She was alone and confused.

"Not ready.."The gray wolf grunted.

Lola snuck a glare at Yuko, then turned and said, "Tatsuke, come here. I have something to tell you..."
"OK..." he said confused. Lola whispered something in his ear, and when she was done they nodded and lay down. "It's dark," one mumbled, though it wasn't clear who. "Let's rest." Lola winked at Tatsuke and whispered, "tomorrow, when the sun is in the center of the sky." Tatsuke smiled and was quickly in a deep sleep.

Yuko laid his head on his paws.

Lola opened her eyes just to a slit. She counted heads. She counted herself - one, then her brother - two, three, four, five, six. "Huh?" she asked as she stood up. "What is it now?" Tatsuke grumbled, eyes closed. Lola was confused; there was one extra. Tatsuke was next to her. Yuko was next to Tally. There's Lydda. She squinted at number six. Instead of asking she just said, "Nothing," as she laid down. She figured she'd better get rest than wear herself out introducing a new member. She could do that when she woke up. She was fast asleep.

Lola woke up to find only Tatsuke to be awake before she was.

Tally sat awake.

Lola blinked a few times and yawned. Tatsuke stretched and did a body shake and licked himself. "The Center," Lola said to Tatsuke. He flickered his ears and then began chasing his tail for exercise. Lola hopped around and suddenly pounced Tatsuke. "Rah!!" she yelled scaring him. He jumped and rolled like a log on the ground. They both laughed.

Yuko growled. "IM TRYING TO SLEEP!"He barked.

Lola shot the gray wolf a look and growled. "It's daybreak," she said.

"So?"

"So it's best we get up, atleast, if not start searching for a new home."

"I like it here.."The two answered.

"Well, we need to atleast find a safe place incase of a thunderstorm or tornado. If any bad weather comes, we're bound to get hurt way high up here."

He nodded.

Lola started walking down the mountain. She swished her tail in a strange pattern, but Tatsuke knew what it meant. He walked right behind her, looking left and right for hunters.

Tally ran beside Tatsuke.

Yuko trotted next to Lydda.

The sun was almost in the center of the sky. The brother and sister could sense each other's excitementrising, but they tried to keep calm so the others would not get suspicious.

Tallys eyes danced arround the sky.

They kept on walking calmly, as if the whispering had never happened.
(gotta go to bed, school tomorrow. bye!)

Lola kicked her back right leg. Tatsuke lowered his head; he knew it was time. But nothing happened, except that Lola started sniffing the ground, making it look believable. She turned sharply as if following a scent. Then her eyes changed their story and she grinned. She and her brother knew that the others had no idea what was in store for them.

"Somthing wrong?"Tally asked.
